About the Artist

Lily Russo
Lily started making mosaics as a child using the
scraps from her mother's stained glass window
projects. An entrepreneur at an early age, she turned
her passion into a business specializing in mosaic
furniture.  Lily studied painting at the University of
Illinois and graduated with a B.A. in International
Studies, with a concentration on Human Rights in
Latin America. She has lived abroad in Ecuador and
Australia and is inspired by the intricate patterns of
indigenous designs. Besides for making mosaics and
other arts and crafts, Lily enjoys the outdoors,
traveling, reading, music, cooking, spending time
with family
and friends, and teaching and practicing
yoga.

From June-November 2007, Lily worked as the
Studio Manager and Instructor at the Institute of
Mosaic Art in Oakland, and also as Assistant to the
very talented Mosaic Artist Laurel True at True
Mosaic Studios.

From April 16 to May 24 2008, Lily's mosaics were
displayed at the Bulldog Cafe, in downtown
Oakland at 1739 Broadway Ave.

From November 13- December 31 2007, Lily's
work was displayed in a solo exhibition at the
Berkeley Ironworks at 700 Potter Street in
Berkeley, CA.

Lily's work was again displayed in a solo exhibition
at the Berkeley Ironworks for the month of
December 2008.

From May 1 -September 2009 Lily's work was
displayed at the Richmond Patients' Association in
Richmond, CA.
